Sorry boys! Rio medallist Sakshi Malik's heart is already stolen by another wrestler

India's latest sporting sensation, Sakshi Malik, who ended the nation's medal drought at Rio Olympics by bagging bronze in women's 58kg Freestyle Wrestling category, has just broken many hearts by revealing her marriage plans. While refusing to divulge the name of her husband-to-be, Sakshi said that she is all set to get hitched with a fellow wrestler, this very year.

When asked whether the impending marriage would affect her performance on the mat or not, the bronze medallist said, "He is very supportive and considers my dream as his own. After marriage, I will get a good friend in him, who would also help me in my preparation. I believe marriage would have no negative bearings on my wrestling career."

The Rohtak-born wrestler was also quoted as saying that her next target is to win a medal in 2020 Tokyo Olympics and that she was delighted to prove her critics wrong by grabbing a bronze at Rio. "I am happy to change the perception of those people who thought that women cannot wrestle and used to bully me at every given opportunity," Sakshi said.

Sakshi, who is now the cynosure of all eyes, scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman to clinch a medal in wrestling in the prestigious quadrennial event. The 23-year-old suffered a major setback when she went down 2-9 against Russia's Valeriia Koblova in the quarter-finals but received another shot at a medal via Repechage and made full use of the second life by outplaying Asian No. 1 Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyztan 8-5 in the bronze-medal match to end India's 11-day long agonising wait for a medal in the Summer Games.

Sakshi said that although she could have clinched silver, she is happy to finally fulfill her 12-year long dream to go to the Olympics and bring a medal for the country.
